Da da night night, 被被… 噓 (shiii)
* 19 months *
Emma has been talking more and more just in the last month or so.
She’s able to say more and more words, too many for mummy to remember to note them down one at a time like she could back in Nov and Dec…. even Jan was 30+ new words. She has also started putting two words together.
Last few days, she’s been playing with her dolls or her soft toy dog, she always likes to put them to sleep, or feed them food or drinks. (With the doll, even putting cream on or insists mummy also getting her nails cut). She started putting the doll or the dog to bed, saying “娃娃” (dolly) or woof woof night night. Then she will find her night night cloth (a little face cloth she has for sleeping) and put it on the doll or the dog and say “被被” (blanket/duvet). Then she will turn around and put her finger in her mouth and say 噓/shiii to tell people to be quiet, because the doll or the dog is sleeping.
Today, daddy as usual, passing out on the bean bag after dinner while reading his book. Emma turned around and said “Da da, night night..” then went and got her little cloth and said 被被, and put it on daddy. Started patting daddy on his back to put him to sleep as we used to with her. Turned around and asked us to be quiet.. shiii. That was quite cute.
It’s worth mentioning that there are a few words she knows both English and Chinese.. Dog/狗狗 is one of them. Da da / 爸爸; Shoes/ 鞋鞋. I don’t know if mummy / 媽媽 counts though
Can’t remember if there’s any other words though.
I do realise something funny, it was a good idea to try and teach Emma both Chinese and English. But what I didn’t realise is, that means not only daddy has to learn more Chinese, also her cousins, uncle/aunty and grandparents, too!
