“mummy no bite Emma yellow night night”

* 22 months *

We’ve been talking more and more and it’s quite funny to listen to her making up new sentences.

Emma likes to hold her little face cloth as security blanket, it is either yellow or pink. Usually we prefer pink ones but if pink ones are not available, we will take yellow ones.

Last night I stole her yellow night night and held it in my mouse. We sometimes fight over it this way and she loves it. So she was tryhing to pull it off my mouth and said: “mummy no bite Emma yellow night night”. That’s the first 6 word sentence ( count “night night” as 1 word), pretty much a full sentence, with a few grammatical errors but very good for her age. At least I didn’t expect this.

I know a few days ago, she also said something that was about 5 words long, but I can’t remember. So we are definitely progressing.

We are understand the concepts of, and can say these words: big and small; up and down; dark and light. We know some colours: blue, yellow, green, pink, purple, black (in Chinese). We count to 3 in English and we say 1,2 and 5 in Chinese. We also know there are 2 something and she will say things like: 2 fish when she sees 2 of them.

I’m sure there’d be more and more fun discovery as she learns to talk more.
