換家庭醫師 – Changing Family Doctor
Comments(0) 原本妹妹是看附近一個外國女醫師; 雖然小朋友看病也要錢, 但是因為醫生不錯, 又很近很方便, 所以想說, 反正一年就去幾次… 算了. 上次去也是去年12月的事情了. 那時候發現醫生走了… 新的醫生爸媽都不喜歡. .
週一 (Mon, 28th June) 晚上妹妹咳到吐, 又發燒, 這其實也不是甚麼很大的問題; 不過他跟我說耳朵痛.. 已經是第二天這樣跟我說了, 所以週二就安排去看醫生. 想說順變換了吧. 其他認識的醫生也就一個在 Ponsonby, 我表弟的乾哥哥. 也是台灣人. 他的外國太太也是醫生, 想說要是看這個妹妹不喜歡, 也可以看他老婆吧.
其實去, 原本想說妹妹會吵鬧哭到很恐怖, 因為 1) 本來就不舒服; 2) 爸爸沒有一起去; 3) 換新的醫生; 4) 是一個男生的醫生!!
結果還好… 哭就是很委屈 你怎麼欺負我的哭法… 窩在我懷裡…
還好檢查都 ok, 就只說去驗驗尿吧… 因為小朋友要是尿道發炎就比較不會說. 保守一點的檢查看看吧.
回家他還跟爸爸說那個醫生 nice. (在那邊連 byebye 都不太想跟人家說呢 ^^;;)

Emma has been seeing a lady doctor in a practice nearby; even though they charge to see kids but because the doctor was very good and the practice is close and convenient, we stayed with the same doctor. After all, really only see the doctor a few times in a year. The last time was last Dec.
That’s when we found out that the nice doctor left , both parents don’t really like the new doctor.
Monday (28/06) night, Emma was coughing so badly, she threw up all over. Fever, too. These aren’t too big of a problem for kids this age with a cold. But she also told me her ear hurts and that was the 2nd night she told me that. So I thought I better take her to the doctor the next day.
We might as well use this opportunity to change her to a new doctor. The only other family docotor that I know of, is my cousin’s family friend. The practice is in Ponsonby and he’s also from Taiwan. And yes, it’s a he. Although his wife is also a doctor, so I thought if she doesn’t like the male doctor, can always ask to see his wife.
Orginially I was fully prepared for screaming, crying as 1) she’s not feeling well; 2) daddy wasn’t there; 3) a new doctor; 4) a male doctor!
Luckily, there were only a few tears, more like a quiet suffering kind of tears, “don’t touch me” kind of sobbing in mummy’s arms.
Luckily, everything was okay. Just had to get urine samples just in case, as kids this age can’t tell us if there’s anything wrong down there.
After we got home and when daddy was back; she even told daddy the doctor was nice! (Even though she didn’t want to talk to the dcotor at all, not evey saying bye bye!)
